Sources of pesticide pollution in water bodies:
① Directly apply pesticides to water bodies;
② The migration of pesticides applied in farmland to water bodies with rainwater or irrigation water;
③ Discharge of wastewater from pesticide production and processing enterprises;
④ Residual pesticides in the atmosphere enter water bodies with precipitation;
⑤ During the use of pesticides, droplets or dust tend to drift and settle into water bodies due to wind, as well as cleaning of pesticide application tools.
This indicates that the occurrence of water source pollution is closely related to the variety, dosage, and other applications of pesticides. In addition, atmospheric transport causes the migration of pesticides in the water cycle, resulting in the widespread smokeless pesticide contamination of surface water on Earth. The higher the solubility of pesticides in water sources, the more severe the pollution of water sources on Earth.
